What do I need to do to visit?

Permission

First you must be granted permission to visit based on one of the following extenuating circumstances, if your loved one.

    1. Is in end of life care
    2. Is at risk of sadness and depression due to social isolation and this cannot be resolved through other methods.

Risk of sadness and depression due social isolation applies to the resident, not family members or friends who are anxious. Assessment of this will be done by Respect on a cases by case basis.

Qualification

Loved one’s must.

    • Complete a risk assessment regarding recent travel and activities.
    • Watch read and understand education on COVID-19, hand hygiene, sneeze and cough etiquette, and social distancing.
    • Book a time to attend between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
    • Have their temperature taken prior to entry.
    • Be supervised on entry to ensure proper hand sanitisation.
    • Only visit for 30 minutes.
    • Maintain social distancing from their loved one of 1.5 meters throughout the duration of their visit.
    • Only visit their loved one in their room and with no access to public or communal areas, or to visit other residents.
    • Wear personal protective equipment if deemed necessary in the future depending on the circumstances.

Visitors who don't comply with these conditions of entry or who do not follow the directions of staff will be asked to leave and refused further entry.
